People

The farm is operated by brothers Bob and Brad Stewart, along with their father, Craig.  They are assisted by a dedicated group of hard-working employees and their families. 


 

Bob received a bachelor’s degree in 1992 with highest honors and a master’s degree in 1994, both in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois.  Bob's thesis work investigaed the potential for institutional investment in farmland (see thesis). He worked for Centrec Consulting for 10 years after college prior to returning to the farm.  Bob’s work areas for Centrec included strategy development, economic modeling, educational product development, and agricultural research conducted for the firms agribusiness and large scale farm clients.

Bob is a 2006 graduate of the Illinois Ag Leadership Program and a 2011 graduate of The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers.  Bob serves as the president of the Kendall County Farm Bureau Board.  Bob is a member of Cross Lutheran Church.

Bob is responsible for the finance, land owner relations, and production sides of the farm business.  Bob and his wife Sarah have 3 children: Kristine, Karoline, and Keith.  Sarah manages the financial record keeping for the farm.

Brad received a bachelor’s degree in 2000 from the University of Illinois in Agricultural Economics.  Brad worked for a Wal-Mart Distribution center in the area of logistics management prior to returning to the farm.  Brad’s responsibilities within the distribution center included personnel management and order process improvement. 

 

Brad is a 2012 graduate of the Illinois Ag Leadership Program.  He is  an active member of the Kendall County Farm Bureau and serves on the fundraising committee for the Kendall County Young Leaders.  He has also been involved with the Kendall County 4-H program.  Brad is a member of the Au Sable Grove Presbyterian Church where he serves as an elder.

 

Brad is responsible for the employee management and grain marketing sides of the farm business.  Brad and his wife Kelli have 4 children:  Vincent, Joel, Cecilia, and Dean.  Kelli works off the farm as a small animal veterinarian.
